2012-12-13

A main focus of the Master Plan currently being developed by our member company intec – International Energy Consultants for the South Ukraine regional transmission network is an accelerated integration of solar and wind power into the national power grid within the next 15 years.

The master planning of the regional power network development at 750, 330, 220 and 110 kV voltage levels in South Ukraine with a 5 and 15-year perspective represents the first of two phases of this project financed by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The project includes, inter alia, the determination of the appropriate levels of wind and solar power capacity, the identification of short and medium-term investments needed to increase the capacity of wind and solar power, the demand forecast and generation expansion plan as well as the determination of the required spare generating capacity for an interconnected power system (IPS).

The second phase of the project consists of the preparation of Two Priority Investment Packages including technical specifications, BoQ, line route review, technical, economic and financial analyses, ESIA, project feasibility, project tender documentation.
