GOPA Group Regional Summit

“Only if we feel and act as one Group, we have a chance to

stay successful in a rapidly changing political and competitive environment.”

Strategic Framework

GOPA Group's Regional Summit, held from June 3-6, 2024, laid the groundwork for empowering GOPA Group´s  regional structures and fostering closer collaboration across all GOPA companies.

The summit brought together colleagues from GOPA companies spanning Africa, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. It facilitates dynamic discussions and strengthened connections within the Group´s  network, setting the stage for change.

The focus was on aligning with the strategic framework, which ranges from the key points of strengthening the Group branding, strengthening a Global Headquarterreducing complexity up to considerations of portfolio management or even the introduction of a matrix structure. Against this backdrop, there is a need to better utilize existing and future regional structures for the entire Group to be optimally positioned for future challenges and opportunities.

CEO's Opening Speech at the GOPA Group Summit 2024

Dr. Martin Güldner opened the summit with a speech emphasizing the necessity of strategic transformation to ensure the company's future success. Reflecting on GOPA Group's impressive history and achievements since its founding in 1965, Dr. Güldner highlighted the pressing need for adaptation amid new global challenges such as political shifts, economic crises, and geopolitical tensions.

Given the rapidly evolving global landscape, Dr. Güldner stressed that GOPA Group must remain competitive and resilient.  Entering into the USAID market will mark a significant step towards global markt positioning.

Strategic Areas for Growth: Dr. Güldner laid out three key strategic areas:

  1. Empowering Regional Structures: Strengthening local offices and integrating them into the GOPA framework to enhance collaboration and leverage local expertise and ownership for better impact and results.
  2. Simplifying and Coordinating Portfolios: Reducing internal complexity by consolidating overlapping portfolios and streamlining operations to improve agility and efficiency.
  3. Further Establishing a Strong Global Headquarter: Creating a central hub to drive market development, digitalization, and innovation, ensuring aligned and cohesive operations across all brands.

These strategic initiatives are designed to position GOPA Group for sustained growth and resilience in the dynamic global market.
