Africa: Apprenticeship Tools and Initiatives Available Online

May 08, 2023

Our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team has completed the “Apprenticeship– Research and Tools” project which is embedded in the “Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA)” programme implemented by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), supported by GIZ

GOPA’s team of experts identified, mapped and prepared tangible apprenticeship tools and initiatives facilitating the implementation of apprenticeships in various African countries; and they made these outputs available on the African Skills Portal for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (ASPYEE)

Three online exchange webinars were organised, each with 60-70 participants from various AU member states, aimed at discussing selected apprenticeship tools and initiatives and exchanging apprenticeship-related experience. On this project, GOPA Com. supported MEL by developing an interactive web tool (prototype) for the ASPYEE platform designed for taking on a large number of apprenticeship tools and initiatives and guiding the user through the contents. A total of 22 apprenticeship tools and initiatives from 12 AU member states were prepared and are now available on:
