International Agricultural Research: Strengthening outcomes through evidence-based research

April 20, 2023

On behalf of the GIZ Fund for International Agricultural Research (FIA), our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team is currently implementing three projects:

  1. Impact Assessment and Adoption Study of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Project "Climate-Smart Coffee and Cocoa: from Theory to Practice" in Uganda,
  2. Impact Assessment and Adoption Study to "Strengthen Food System Resilience in Asia's Mega-Deltas with Salt-Tolerant Sweet Potato and Potato" in Bangladesh; and
  3. Assessment of the "Quality of Science" Applied to the Active Portfolio of FIA Research Projects worldwide.

FIA is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to support agricultural research institutions of the Global Research Partnership for a Food Secure Future (CGIAR) in efforts “to advance agricultural science and innovation to enable poor people, especially women, to better nourish their families, and improve productivity and resilience so they can share in economic growth and manage natural resources in the face of climate change and other challenges.”
